Peter BOURNOUSSIZIS
Another case of one that got away!
The Club stumbled across Peter when his primary school teacher got talking to a Club member during a teacher’s PD session in October 1976. The Grade 6 student was identified as a kid with a deal of potential. Of course the paperwork was done with the parents being very happy for their boy to be involved.
He was picked up from his home one Saturday and taken out to the Heidelberg track to compete with our under 13 team of the day.
Peter did two events that day and managed to turn a few heads with his efforts.
At just 12 years old and without any real training, Peter managed to jump 9.99m in the triple jump and then run almost right on 5:00 for the 1500mts.
Never came back again!!!
